Time for some reading…

By Patrick, January 16, 2010 1:15 pm

Its time for me to further explore my camera and so I zoom in to Canon shop at Vivocity yesterday to get my copy of user guide for my camera.

It gives you tips on how to take the pictures and the desired effects that you want. But still didn’t tell me how to take night shots without a tripod… Hmm, I shall look for an expert to do that.  If you guys know of how to take night shots without using a tripod, please share it with me by leaving a comment.

Thai Accent

By Patrick, November 22, 2009 11:08 pm

My week ended with another farewell lunch from a department head, Mr U. The best thing about him is that he is not my boss at all, yet, he gave me a farewell lunch, just to thank me for helping his department. He is so nice that he asked me to choose a restaurant and choose the food that I want to order (its really hard to find such a nice guy these days). So we decided to head to Thai Accent at Vivocity.

Service
Excellent service and great view (I mean in the future lah, what you see now is the construction of the almost completed Resorts World @ Sentosa). When you enter, they staff will greet you in Thai, which I thought was something which you can’t find in other Thai restaurant like Thai Express. They were friendly and shared with us their chef’s recommendation which help us alot when we were ordering our food.

Food
I’m not really a Thai Food lover but the food just blows me away. The Tom Yam soup was fantastic, they had mushrooms and really big prawns in it. It was spicy but not so spicy that I couldn’t take it. We had sea bass, softshell crab, kangkong and chicken with cashew nuts. Simply, there were no complains about the food. We practically finish up all the food that we had.

Thai Accent

I had Thai Ice Tea which was yummy.

Conclusion
This place is a must go and I rate 4.5 out of 5 for it. Pls don’t ask me what was the damage as I did not pay for it and had no chance to take alook at the bill at all.

Location
Its located at Vivocity, #02-145/146.

The gathering @ Marche

By Patrick, September 30, 2009 11:07 pm

It was the gathering that had been postponed for a couple of times, but usually, when I with these group of friends, its always about our home, food and gossip and of course our usual suaning. Meeting them is really relaxing and defintely, you will forget all the worries you have on your mind. I’m talking about J, S, ST, M, Y, R and his wife.

This time round for this gathering, it was just a small group of us but I guess, its really difficult to organize one big one that suits everyone. I need to thank J for organizing it, afterall, she is my unofficial secretary. It was also the first time that I see R’s wife.

We had our dinner at Marche, other than the companionship, I would say everything else was lousy. The food standard dropped tremendously and worst still the variety was really limited. I do hope to have our next gathering soon, but it will defintely be after mid-November.

Pampering Sunday

By Patrick, June 16, 2009 12:17 am

Ethan was sick, so my mum look after him at home, while Jingyi and I took sometime out for a haircut. So why Sunday for a haircut, cause Jingyi will be starting work on Wednesday (so fast, 4 months just pass) and since I’ve been super busy over the past week, I just need something to make me feel that what I’ve worked for is worthwhile.

So we went to the salon, for haircut, washing of hair, blowing of hair and gossiping with our stylist. The moment we stepped into the salon, everyone was looking for Ethan. So after the cutting, washing and blowing, we decided to go for a walk at HarbourFront then to Vivocity for our dinner. Jingyi had been eyeing for tops for quite sometime and since Levis Signature has sale, we decided to just get something from them. Then we had dinner at Japanese Gourmet Town at Vivocity, actually its by Aijisen, but still it was nice.

After the dinner, we then went walk walk at Vivocity Thai Fashion Festival. We got Ethan a long sleeve shirt and myself, a short bermudas. I don’t know how to describe but can only say that its short. Anyway, good time always pass so quickly, cause after awhile, I realised that we were late as we got to buy dinner for everyone at home and I’ve got to wash my car and pump petrol…

Over the weekend

By Patrick, April 21, 2009 3:57 pm

On Saturday, we had an outing with Jeffrey and family when both Ethan and Issac finally met again at Vivocity. I think Ethan likes playing with Issac and really enjoy himself during the outing especially when he was playing at Timezone (watch the video). On the other hand, I was abit pai seh, cause I went for my haircut and everyone waited for me, my plan was actually to meet up with them later, but as usual, my wife came to look for me, so everyone just came together. Hehe…

Ethan and Issac (18 April 2009)

On Sunday, we had our usual dinner at Marine Parade. Before that, we went to buy 3 tickets to watch The Little Big Club Live in Concert, which is featuring Barney & Friends, Bob the Builder and many others. This will be the first time that Ethan will be coming close to Barney cause we’ve got tickets to Row 7.  The show will be happening on 6 June @ 5pm at Singapore Expo Hall 2.

You can watch more of Ethan and Ezanne at their dedicated YouTube Channel.

Disappointing service at Secret Recipe Vivocity

By Patrick, December 12, 2008 11:15 pm

This afternoon, after a heavy breakfast, Jingyi, Mel and myself decided that we shall have something light for lunch, therefore we went to Vivocity for Secret Recipe. Jingyi has told me previously that she has cravings for the cakes at secret recipe, that’s why I’ve decided to go.

Then we start making our orders. Jingyi wanted to take the Yam cake, but then, it was not available. In the end she got herself Chocolate Indulgence. For me I got Chocolate Banana. And Mel, he wanted to take the brownies, then they told us that its not ready, he wanted to take one of the cakes, it was not available so the waitress told us, what is available are already on display. Haiz, Mel has to go over to take alook and chose Tiramisu.

Then I ordered a warm water for Jingyi, and guess what, they charged us $0.50 for it! I was like, “Never mind, cause if I cancel the order, what is Jingyi going to drink?” Then Mel ordered Earl Grey and the waiteress ask “You mean hot Earl Grey?” and I was like “Huh?? -_-|l”

So the next time you go Secret Recipe, beware, more than 50% of the cakes listed in the menu are actually not available.
